CIAV must respond promptly and effectively to situations of exposure and poisoning by various products. Therefore it is essential to CIAV to have all the necessary and indispensable information to be able to research and make a toxicological valuation of the products concerned (Registration).
For this purpose there is a legislative framework (Legislation) regarding the obligation to communicate to CIAV the necessary information of existing products or those that will be available at the Portuguese market.
CIAV is legally obliged to maintain the confidentiality of the information received which is accessible only to physicians on duty and exclusively for medical purposes, in particular in emergency situations.
All documentation should be preferably e-mailed to ciav.tox@inem.pt, or sent by post (Contacts).
As soon as CIAV receive the necessary information and the notification process is completed, the respective “Notification Certificate” will be e-mailed back.
